Gurugram: SpiceJet has announced the launch of special non-stop flights from Mumbai and Ahmedabad to Najaf, Iraq — one of the holiest cities in the world for Muslims. With this initiative, the airline becomes the only Indian carrier to operate direct flights to Najaf, offering pilgrims a seamless and comfortable travel experience.
The direct service from Mumbai will commence on October 18, followed by the Ahmedabad–Najaf flight on October 19, 2025. The launch aims to simplify travel for thousands of Indian pilgrims who journey every year to pay homage at the shrine of Imam Ali, one of the most sacred sites in Islam. Until now, travelers had to rely on connecting flights through the Middle East, often enduring long and complex routes.
Najaf holds immense spiritual significance for the global Muslim community.
